- BACKGROUNDMalaysia continues to experience a high burden of road traffic injuries and fatalities, with Selangor being one of the most affected states. Despite national efforts under the Malaysia Road Safety Plan 2022 2030 and the WHO Decade of Action for Road Safety, post-crash care remains a critical area for improvement.Emergency response systems in Malaysia face challenges such as traffic congestion, coordination gaps, and limited first-aid training. There is also a lack of comprehensive data on the quality and timeliness of emergency services and hospital care following road traffic accidents (RTAs). PURPOSE/SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITYThe primary purpose of this contract is to collaborate with the WHO Country Office in conducting a comprehensive assessment of post-crash response in Selangor, with the aim of identifying actionable measures to reduce morbidity and mortality following RTAs. METHODS TO CARRY OUT THE ACTIVITYThe contracted entity is expected to carry out Desk review of policies, reports, and WHO guidelines.
