Description: BACKGROUNDInfodemic management requires a multi-disciplinary approach, with coordination of data inputs and integrated analyses to generate and use evidence-based and actionable insights to guide planning and interventions. Successful IM relies on four main components: availability and access to data, systems for conducting integrated analysis, appropriately trained infodemic managers and linkages to strong networks and partnerships across different sectors.Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, WHO has been supporting the MOH with the collection and analysis of infodemic insights, including the establishment of a rumour and misinformation alert system and regular media monitoring.
