BACKGROUNDMid-term review for the National Strategic Plan for Ending AIDS 2016-2030National Strategic Plan for Ending AIDS 2016-2030 (NSPEA) has been built on the successes of the previous strategies in combating HIV/AIDS with the aim to significantly reduce new HIV infections by 2030. The NSPEA adjusts to the changing international environment and scientific evidence, and adopts “Ending AIDS” as the strategy for Malaysia to achieve the Vision of “Zero new infections, Zero discrimination, and Zero AIDS related deaths”. It adjusts to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) endorsed by the UN General Assembly and adopts UNAIDS strategic guidance on Fast Tracking to Zero and Ending AIDS.In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the National Strategic Plan for Ending AIDS (NSPEA) 2016-2030 adopted the UNAIDS strategic guidance on Ending AIDS by 2030. The implementation of the NSPEA 2016-2030 is now mid-way through its planned period and as planned, this mid-term review (MTR) is on course.
